NPSC Organises CBSE Kaushal Vikas Workshop at Ramjas International School, R.K. Puram, New Delhi
Ramjas International School, R.K. Puram, New Delhi, hosted a Prospective Resource Persons Training Programme on Kaushal Vikas – An Experiential and Hands-on Learning Workshop, organised by the National Principals’ School Conference (NPSC). The programme brought together educators to explore the significance of skill-based, experiential and practical learning in contemporary education.
The workshop was conducted by Dr Sudha Acharya, Principal, ITL Public School, Dwarka, and Dr Anju Tandon, Retired Principal, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, who shared valuable insights into innovative pedagogical practices and the evolving needs of learners.
The sessions focused on moving beyond conventional classroom instruction towards meaningful, practical and learner-centred experiences. Emphasis was laid on integrating skill development with academic learning and enabling students to connect classroom concepts with real-life applications. The educators also explored ways of nurturing essential 21st-century competencies, including creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication and confidence.
A key highlight of the programme was Kaushal Vahan – Skills on Wheels, a mobile laboratory aligned with the vision of NEP 2020. The interactive facility provides students with opportunities to explore skills through hands-on activities and experiential learning. Participants visited the Kaushal Vahan during the tea break and familiarised themselves with its facilities and learning resources.
The programme also featured the felicitation of the distinguished resource persons. Mrs Rachna Pant, Director, Ramjas International School; Ms Richa Sharma, Principal, Ramjas International School; Ms Malika Preman, Chairperson, NPSC; and Ms Swarnima Luthra, Treasurer, NPSC and Principal, A.S.N. Public School, Mayur Vihar, felicitated Dr Sudha Acharya and Dr Anju Tandon in recognition of their valuable contribution to the programme.
The workshop provided educators with an opportunity to reflect on the changing role of education and the need to equip learners not only with knowledge but also with practical skills, adaptability and the confidence to apply their learning in real-world situations. The discussions reinforced the importance of making education purposeful, engaging and responsive to the demands of the 21st century.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs Madhvi Goswami, Principal, Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, dignitaries and participating educators for their valuable contributions.
The workshop concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the significance of learning by doing and strengthening the vital connection between education, skills and real-life experiences.
